Nashville artisan Tracy Austin launches online shop of internationally-inspired gifts...
Sparks of Hope Creative Alliance debuts with dreamcatchers
Nashville, Tennessee (June 19, 2018) -- Interconnecting passion and unique materials for distinctive handmade creations, Nashville artisan Tracy Austin announces the launch today of Sparks of Hope Creative Alliance (SoHCA). The product line currently includes one-of-a-kind dreamcatchers, with additional inspirational items, such as Trees of Life, wooden and canvas creations, notecards and magnets, being added soon.
"Officially opening Sparks of Hope is the culmination of decades of dreaming and more than a year of preparation," Austin said. "I am especially thrilled to open Sparks of Hope's virtual doors during the week that we are celebrating what would have been my Dad's 79th birthday. Both of my parents nurtured my creativity, but it was Dad who taught me the treasure of handmade gifts.
"Upon my request, Dad made a hope chest for me with a very special message on a brass tag, which he finished and presented to me just before he died," Austin said "It remains the most special 'thing' I have. This is my most profound personal experience with the power of receiving a handmade gift, which can be an incredible tool for uplifting and giving someone hope. For this gift, I can only be grateful."
Austin oozes creativity as plentifully as she exudes joy. Blending both traits with a desire to design and produce a piece of art that will bring happiness and hope to its recipient is the goal at SoHCA.
"Through my internationally-inspired creations, I desire to share a spark of hope and vitality for those seeking it and for those searching for a significant, meaningful gift," Austin said.
Each item is unique and customized pieces may be commissioned. All commissioned designs include personal touches in colors, materials and embellishments, including brass tags, charms, special beads, stones, etc. Austin has used feathers gathered on her family's farm, arrowheads and other natural items in her dreamcatchers. Each SoHCA creation includes a story card that tells of the item's history and cultural significance.
As SoHCA expands, Austin intends to offer workshops to teach her art, as well as form an alliance of like-minded artists to be part of SoHCA's mission.
A believer in the power of giving back, Austin, with each sale, makes a donation to Thistle Farms, whose global mission is to heal, empower and employ women survivors of sex-trafficking, prostitution and addition.
